I thought I would have to hire an investment management corporation but I then found out that online trading companies handled everything. I have always taken a very hands-on approach to business. I learned it from my dad - an entrepreneur himself. He didn't believe in investment capital management through a broker. He amassed a financial fortune, and all the while doing the paperwork himself. Of course, he worked about 80 hours a week and died at the age of 55 of a heart attack, so there are things about his life that I don't want to emulate. After a while my investment portfolio had grown too diverse, too large, and I just couldn't handle it adequately anymore. I realized I had to have some help.
I had been using online trading companies for years to buy and sell stocks and options through, and I guess I always knew, somewhere in the back of my mind, they also managed accounts and offered complete investment management services as well as brokering Stock Trading Online for individuals trading for themselves. I spoke to my broker, after all this was a company I already trusted and that made it easier for me to back off and let them manage my account. He set me up with the right investment manager and actually the hardest thing, was having to recognize the fact that this manager was doing a better job with it than I had. Even with the money that I have to pay them, I am still making a huge amount more off of my investments than I had before. My investment portfolio has grown at twice its normal rate.
Online trading companies are the best of all brokerage houses because you can use them for your personal Stock Trading Online or you can have them manage all your investments. I do both. I still love the excitement of the fast paced trading online right from my own computer so I have some investments I trade myself. But I also have the luxury of having the major portion of my portfolio profitably managed for me and that is the best of both worlds.
